FAQs

Lifehouse is a safe, supportive, and structured environment designed for those who are currently enrolled in a PHP level of outpatient treatment.

An application can be submitted via our website www.ShoovaSoberLiving.com/lifehouse

Yes. Lifehouse clients must be actively attending a PHP program of their choice.

Anyone who is currently an active participant in a PHP outpatient program.

Yes. If a resident is going to be enrolled at your PHP program, please visit your dedicated “Lifehouse by Shoova” portal and click the “New Resident” button, and  fill out the form so that we can gather the necessary information to accept the resident.

Rent at Lifehouse is $450 per week. The first payment is due upon move in and all subsequent payments will be due weekly on the day of the week the resident moved in. Rent can be paid by cash, check, money order, or online via credit/debit card or AC. If a resident cannot afford this payment, Hardship forms are available to be filled out and will be considered on a case by case basis.

Once a resident is accepted at Shoova and arrives at the house, one of the “Lifehouse by Shoova” staff will review the house policies and procedures with the resident and answer any questions the resident may have. The resident will then sign these policies. In addition, every new resident will be required to submit to a urine and/or breathalyzer test for drugs/alcohol upon arrival at the house.

During the intake, the staff will also search the belongings of the resident to make sure that they are not bringing in anything that might compromise the integrity of the house. Items deemed to be inappropriate will either be disposed of or be recorded and stored safely offsite until the resident leaves the house. Once the intake process is complete, staff will show the resident to their room and give them a tour of the house.

Every resident will be offered to make a call once they complete the intake process.

“Lifehouse by Shoova” is for those in recovery from Alcohol and/or Substance Use. “Lifehouse by Shoova” does not currently support primary addictions of gambling, sex, food etc..

Residents attending IOP 5 days a week might still be eligible to stay at Lifehouse, but once a resident drops down to 3 day IOP or less, they will be asked to move to one of our traditional Shoova Houses.

Yes. Lifehouse has a weekly in-house meeting and attends at least 4 NA/AA meetings per week

Each treatment center will have a dedicated portal which allows an employee to communicate with the housing staff. Please reach out to your Shoova representative for your treatment center’s dedicated link

The APN should submit a communication ticket via the dedicated portal.

Should a resident test positive for drugs or alcohol or if a resident admits to using drugs or alcohol, “Lifehouse by Shoova” will provide options to ensure their safety and return to a Shoova House or Lifehouse at a future time. Options may include going to a detox facility, hospital, or inpatient facility. Residents leaving “Lifehouse by Shoova” will be provided with a phone line to arrange the transfer and may be provided with transportation if needed. Lifehouse will also contact the treatment center to inform them of the discharge.

All clients are subject to a 14 day blackout period upon arrival at Lifehouse. This period will help the resident focus on their recovery goals without any unnecessary distractions. Use of personal cell phones or other devices will be limited, and supervised during this time.

You are allowed to send care packages for your loved one. Each package will be searched prior to being handed over to the client. The resident will receive their mailing address one the intake process is completed.

Visitors are only allowed on Saturday OR Sunday between 1pm-6pm. All visits must be approved by the housing director.

After the blackout period, residents may request a pass to leave campus with their visitor. Residents will be required to take a UA and/or breathalyzer test upon returning from an off-site visit.

Lifehouse will provide weekly trips or outings for the clients, as well as various in house activities. These may include physical activities. Lifehouse is not responsible for any injuries that may occur during these activities.

Transportation will be arranged for all errands and doctors visits.
